but we will continue to sell locally.
Many of the off-brand scooters now available in the US market are made by Znen Motorcycles of China. Bandit used to import from Znen as well but stopped in April of 2007 because it appeared that 'everyone' was doing the same thing. What has resulted in this Znen proliferation is a price war - each of the various importers wants to get a slightly lower price than their competitor so they can sell for just that little bit less. The problem that stems from this price war is that the quality and reliability of the Znen scooters has suffered.
When Bandit was importing Znen scooters from October of 2003 to April of 2007, the quality and reliability of the scooters was much higher. Out of 2,200 scooters imported during that time, only 4-5 units failed to start in their factory crates when we would do in house prep work prior to shipping our bikes. Also at that time, there was only one other competitor importing under the brand of Baron.

At this time, we no longer recommend nor sell Znen scooter models available from the importers listed above.
But we will continue to sell them to locally as we can support them easier.
As a dealer of Znen scooters since October of 2003, we have found the cuurent generation to be unreliable and the quality has fallen off greatly from what they used to be. The percentage of scooters that need parts and technical assistance after the sale has increased substantially to about 1-in-3. And as of our last inquiry to our Lance Powersports sales rep, he couldn't recommend the Znen products either. Perhaps now we can understand why the Lance Powersports website now features the Cali Classic 125 scooter only.... |
