We know that there are cheaper versions of 250cc scooters available on many other websites.  We don't recommend most of them since they would most likely be too much work.  We highly recommend that you research products and sellers on the ScootDawg forum.  In this way you will quickly find out who is selling what brands, and which products can't hold their own.  Some will say that half the fun of owning a Chinese scooter is working on it all the time.  We don't mind working on them, we just don't think it should be all the time.  That's the main reason why we sell the better brands.  Remember, the higher the quality and more reliable a scooter brand is, the more it will cost.

Performance Upgrade Kit:
We modify the engine to allow it to 'breathe' easier by installing an aftermarket air-filter, re-jetting and tuning the carburetor and then opening the exhaust some to relieve the extra air pressure.  The net result is more low to mid-range torque for better acceleration off the line and from 25-40 mph.  You may also see an increase in fuel economy depending on how you ride.

Linhai of China has been manufacturing engines for Yamaha for about 8 years now.  In the late 1990's, they worked with Yamaha to develop new products for Yamaha to build into their product models sold world wide.  Yamaha even owns a small percentage of Linhai and keeps their QC and engineering staff on site to assist Linhai in the development of it's new engines and products.  Linhai has learned a lot about product development and building quality products from their dealings with Yamaha.  They are now the second most common scooter brand in China behind only CF Moto.  It is because of their abilities to develop and build quality products that they now build models for the US market.

The Aeolus Classic 260 is a 260cc maxi scooter based on the Yamaha YP-250 Majesty with a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine.  The 257cc, 4-stroke engine presents excellent power over a standard 250/300 class vehicle in a light weight, full-sized maxi scooter while the liquid cooling provides excellent wear characteristics and thusly, longevity.  The Aeolus Classic 260 has a CVT automatic transmission for simple 'throttle-n-go' operation.  All of these features plus the Linhai name in quality means that with regular maintenance, this scooter will go for many years without the likelihood of needing major service.  If you take care of it, it should last for a very long time.
